Medical Electronic Distributors (M.E.D.) focuses on Clinical and Analytical instrumentation.  We concentrate on the supply of these products backed by comprehensive operator training and full service / maintenance from our main offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg, and various agents throughout South Africa.

Company Profile

Formulated in 1982, M.E.D. operated mainly in the Western Cape where we successfully gained a 70% market share on our Clinical range of products.  We expanded our territory in 1993 and registered as a private company in 1995.

We have a comprehensive staff complement and together with our agents and service engineers, we offer sales and support throughout the African continent.  We use sophisticated computer programs to monitor and control our customer's stock requirements to ensure adequate provisioning for them.

Our representatives regularly call on hospitals, including pathology laboratories, intensive care units, trauma units, blood transfusion units, as well as medical schools and universities throughout South Africa and our neighbouring countries.

It is our aim to grow through our employees and to continue to serve our customers with quality products supported by excellence in service.  Together we will achieve our growth potential by frequent in-house seminars and workshops conducted by our specialists, either locally or from overseas, from our offices in Cape Town.  Support from these offices will be given to our branches and agents, and will, of course, include field Customer training.  Our team is dedicated, with many years of related experience, and continuously strive for greater levels of customer confidence and satisfaction.

We have achieved an excellent reputation to-date and through this have been re-awarded the services contracts for Companies to which we have sold instruments over the past years.

We attribute our success to our philosophy of supporting every product we sell or have sold over the past 25 years and we aim to continue in this way in the future.

Location

M.E.D. operates from our own spacious office in Parow (Cape Town) and conveniently located office in Kensington, Johannesburg.  Our future plans are to have offices in each of the main centres of South Africa.
